    An independent probe through a full preheat and several cycles. The swing matters as much as the average.

    Test the sensor cold

    Resistance at room temperature against the specification for the model. A sensor out of range cold will be worse hot.

    A probe touching the cavity wall or bent out of place by a roasting pan reads the wall, not the air.
