Whirlpool dryer vent cleaning
This is a safety job before it is a performance job. Lint that has been packing into a duct for years is fuel sitting next to a heat source, and long drying times are the warning. On Whirlpool dryers the machine measures the restriction itself and reports it, which is a genuine advantage — most makes leave you to notice.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.
-
01
Measure the drying time first
So the improvement is a number rather than an impression.
-
02
Clear the whole run
Machine to wall, through the wall, and the hood outside. A hood flap glued shut with lint is extremely common on this coast and it defeats a clean duct entirely.
-
03
Clean the machine side too
The lint screen housing, the blower wheel and the internal duct hold as much as the wall run does.
-
04
Fix the transition
Crushed foil and long flexible runs behind the machine undo the work within months. Rigid or semi-rigid, and the shortest route the room allows.
-
05
Reset and re-measure
The restricted-vent indication cleared and a timed dry run to confirm it stays clear.

Vented electric · vented gas · compact heat pump · HybridCare · laundry tower Whirlpool dryer repair in Miami
Whirlpool publishes 114 pages on the dryer with 55 of them code pages, another 47 on the compact heat pump machine, 35 on the HybridCare ventless dryer, and 92 more of general dryer material — and that is before the laundry tower and the all-in-one branches, which have their own. The published code set runs wide: E1, E2, E3, F01 and F02, the F1 and F2 families, F20 through F31, F70 through F78, FCE1, Loc, PF, and one that no other appliance has — AF, which Whirlpool documents as Check Vent. That single code is the most useful thing this make publishes, because in South Florida a restricted vent is the leading cause of a dryer that has stopped drying and the leading fire risk in the room.
- Vented electric and gas, plus ventless heat pump and HybridCare condensing machines
- 55 published code pages on the vented dryer alone, including AF or Check Vent
- A ventless machine has no duct to blame — the condenser and its drain replace it

About Whirlpool dryer vent cleaning
Miami buildings put the duct in the worst possible places
A house with three feet of duct through the wall is the easy version. What we mostly meet here is a condominium with a run inside the wall to a roof termination four floors up, sometimes shared with other units, sometimes with a booster fan nobody has thought about since the building was finished. Lint packs into the horizontal sections and into the outside flap, drying times climb, and the machine starts reporting the restriction itself. The job is the whole run — the transition behind the machine, the duct, and the termination — measured before and after.

Questions about Whirlpool dryer vent cleaning
How often does this need doing in a building like mine?
Annually for a household doing several loads a week, and more often on a long or shared run. The practical measure is drying time: when a normal load starts needing two cycles, the duct is already well down the road.
The building says the risers are their responsibility.
Often true, and we will tell you where our work ends and the association's begins, in writing, so you have something to hand the management office rather than an opinion.
Is a longer drying time really a safety matter?
It is the warning sign, yes. Lint packed into a duct is fuel next to a heat source, and the restriction that makes a load take two cycles is the same restriction that makes the machine run hotter than it was designed to.
