Salt in the air, dust that never really settles, and humidity that keeps every seal working harder than the manual assumed. On a Whirlpool none of that shows up as an error on a display, because the maker publishes cleaning instructions for these conditions and no readings at all. So the visit is a list and a set of measurements: coil temperature before and after clearing, drying time before and after the duct, the drain pump filter that has never been opened, the gasket tested rather than glanced at. What you keep afterwards is the list, in order of risk.

Condenser coil and fan cleaned, door gaskets checked with a paper test, defrost drain cleared, and both compartments measured with a thermometer rather than read off the panel.

Drain pump filter opened and cleaned, inlet screens checked, the door seal fold wiped out on a front loader, the machine releveled, and the dryer duct and wall hood cleared end to end.

Filter cylinder and mesh out and washed, spray arms cleared and spun by hand, door gasket checked, and the water temperature measured at the machine.

Burner ports cleared on gas, oven door gasket and hinge checked, cooktop glass and its surround inspected for the cracks that start at a trapped spill, and the oven temperature verified against a probe.

Write down what is next

Hoses, gaskets, igniters and belts give warning before they go. The point of the visit is to tell you which one is closest, not to leave everything looking clean.

It is the cheapest moment to do it and the hardest one to arrange later. A washer filter, a dryer duct, a refrigerator coil and a dishwasher filter take one visit while the unit is empty, and three of those four are the calls we get from tenants at nine in the evening.
